Community Health Speaks and the UBMD Department of Psychiatry hosted an insightful evening featuring a screening of Can't Look Away, a powerful documentary exploring the dark side of social media and its impact on young users. After the screening, attendees participated in an engaging discussion led by neuroscientist and science communicator Dr. Ben Rein and child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Sourav Sengupta. Parents, educators, students, and clinicians actively contributed to the conversation, sharing thoughtful questions and personal experiences, deepening the collective understanding of the science, ethics, and emotional realities surrounding screen time, youth mental health, and digital safety.
