Community-Based Music Mindfulness Intervention on Children

Our researchers are exploring how music and mindfulness may support emotional well-being in children and adolescents with ADHD and/or anxiety. Participants will engage in guided group sessions over 8 weeks while completing wellness assessments, wearing fitness trackers to monitor sleep and heart rate patterns, and participating in interviews about their experiences. The study aims to better understand how creative, culturally grounded interventions can support mental health in youth and families.

We are recruiting children ages 8–12 for a community-based Music Mindfulness Study exploring how music and meditation may support mood, attention, and emotional well-being. Participants will attend guided music-mindfulness sessions, complete brief surveys, and wear a non-invasive fitness tracker to monitor sleep and heart rate activity. Families will be compensated for participation. The study takes place at the Delavan-Grider Community Center in Buffalo, NY.

We are recruiting until July 1st, 2026

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome in MENA and South Asian Communities

Our immigrant health research team is studying Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), now referred to as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), among Middle Eastern/North African (MENA) and South Asian women in the United States. Through a scoping review and community-based health education campaign, we aim to better understand barriers to diagnosis, treatment, and care while addressing the cultural stigma that often surrounds reproductive and hormonal health.
